My mother in law done it and it looked great she spent like $115 on it though

I wouldn't do it my friends had really curly hair and they tried to get it chemically straightened and it only destroyed the curls and made it puff even more. Just get a good shampoo and conditioner. It works for me.

My best friend had hers done and it just made her have really bad split ends and frizzy hair and her hair wasn't even that wavy when she let it dry naturally. Also, if you highlight or ever plan on highlighting your hair a lot of places don't allow you to have permanently straightened hair and a color because its expremely damaging to the hair (this happened to my best friend as well). I'd just stick with just a straighter but you know your hair better than I do.

I did it once...

After she had the chemical in my hair, she advised me that I would still have to blow dry it out and use a round brush every day to wear it straight! WHAT?!? I didn't want MORE maintenance... I thought it would be less maintenance!

Furthermore, my scalp felt like a porcupine... and it looked frizzy everyday until it grew out. We used to measure my line of damage when I started going to a new stylist. I literally had a stripe where the damage was. And I didn't want to complicate matters by coloring it.

It's finally all gone now. I no longer try to fight what my hair wants to do naturally.

I had my hair straightened about 4 months ago, and it hardly did anything for the waves and curl. A waste of money in my opinion. I have caucasian wavy/frizzy hair and I'm just learning to let it do what it wants!

The normal chemical straightening DEFINITLY damages your hair. Badly. The at-home straightening kits are even worse, I have wavy hair, and tried it once. Never again. I spent way too much money after that on conditioning hair treatements.... The only way it's going to turn out nicely is to go for the Japanese type hair straightening. People have great results, BUT it costs from $200 to $600!!! There are some great straightening shampoos and styling products, try Tigi Bedhead Control Freak, the hairspray works wonders.

NO!! dont chemically straighten your hair cause it will just make it dry and will become very damaged. This is what i tried back in september and my hair now is barely going back to how it use to be, after i did it my hair was dry and very coarse. But if you want to, try it and see how your hair will come out. most likely DAMAGED. so dont do it.

I love you just the way you are,

you've got it going on,

would the enlightened ask:

I want to be a sluggard

would those in heaven ask:

I want to murk around in hell

it sometimes depends on the texture of your hair, generally people who go in for this are ones who do not have such good hair. it is advisable not to go in for a chemically straightenin session coz it doesnt help. see if there is an available alternative.

i say so basically coz a friend of mine has landed with bad split ends, and her hairs even worse now.

i've had mine done a few times, it is still curly but does straighten out easier, but now after i straighten it, if i try to put curls on the bottom of my hair it won't hold. So, what do ya do?
