My hair is curly and i've just bought the Dark and Lovely hair relaxer as it was the only hair straightening product available at the pharmacy! I bought it hesitantly, so, i would like to know if it is effective or not!! Please advise! I'm from Mauritius
HEEELLLP! Has anyone ever used Dark and Lovely Hair relaxer? Is it very effective? HELLLP!?
Dark and Lovely is meant for afro caribbean type hair. I would not suggest it being used for any hair other than that. If you want to straighten your hair, try looking for texturizers or at home straightening hair kits meant for caucasian hair as they are much gentler. If you haven't got afrocaribbean type hair i.e. it tends to look more like caucasian hair then the thick coarse texture of black hair, then I would not suggest using dark %26amp; lovely. If you want more permanent results, go to a salon and ask for the expensive japanese treatment that lasts several months. The draw back is that it's expensive.
If you do go ahead with the relaxer, make sure you follow the instructions to the letter and please do a strand test first to prevent any problems. As a relaxer chemically destroys the structure of the hair, I would advise you get regular trims and have lots of deep conditioning sessions, at least once a week to get your hair in a better condition.

If you have dyed your hair you SHOULD NOT use it!
If you have not dyed you hair, it will turn out great! =]

I have used the product and the results were good! Just make sure you follow the instructions carefully so you know when to take off the relaxer.

It depends on the texture of your hair%26amp; the strength of the relaxer you purchased. The come in 3 different types. Mild, Regular, or Super strength.. I suggest that you do a strand test first before applying, so you don't expirence hair loss.
