I straighten my hair every day!! I use Dove shampoo and conditioner.... it seems to work. Also, try a hot oil treatment for you hair, you can get a good on at Sallys. Also, your straighter could be a problem, something about the flatner its self. My 1st straightner killed my hair, then the lady that does my hair told me about another one, i love my new one! You could ask your saloon if they recomend a certain kind of straightner.... Good Luck!

ok i have like really really curly/wavy thick.. i mean like THICK hair and when i straighten my hair i use a lot of tresemme conditioner.. but i do that even when i don't straighten my hair but w/e and when i get out of the shower i use v05 straightening gel in my hair, blow dry it straight with a big round brush and make sure it's completely dry, heat up the iron, flat iron my hair, and put some oil in it to avoid frizz and all that. for the oil i'd suggest paul mitchell's stuff. and f.y.i the wide straighteners are bad for your hair. if you have a wide one that might be why it's damaging your hair...

make sure you dont straighten your hair when its even a tiny bit wet. that might be the problem. try some garnier fructis or whatever it is shampoo and conditioner, or something that says "for dry, frizzy hair" or something like that

Use a straightener that is solid ceramic : SOLID, completely solid. Ask a sales associate in any store that sells them; he or she will know what this means, in case you don't (I'm not assuming anything :)) Use, at most, a one-inch straightener. Mine is 3/4 inches. Don't straighten your hair when it's wet: wait until it's 100% dry. Good products are Garnier Fructis Smoothing Milk, most shampoo + conditioner smoothing systems, and almost anything by Biolage, Redken, and Matrix, though the last three are a bit expensive.
