I'm thinking about getting my hair permanently straightened. How hard is it on your hair? Does it work well? How much of a difference was there after you got it done? Ahh lol i want to know all about it.

it damages and it's still kinda puffy....just curls are gone...but still gotta do all the straighting with iron anyways....

It will wreck your hair. It is the most damaging thing you can do to it--and the roots will grow in curly. Nothing is nastier than broken, fried hair.

not sure if you meant permanently straightening? Is it rebonding? well if you meant that, that is no such things call permanently, depend on how you take care of your hair, it can last like 2 years. need to leave a gap like 6 mths before do another rebonding. the effect is pretty obvious if you had wavy or curly hair, else it's just look straight, the latest I just had is SOFT REBOND, it mean straight but not flat means still Look straight and natural

I don't see how you could permanently straighten hair. It grows out of the follicle the way it does. You would have to change genetic structure to permanently straighten it. Sounds like a rip off.

It didn't wreck my hair (I've always had super curly, frizzy hair). It actually made it look a hell of a lot better! But it didn't last long at all... I'm just sticking with hot-irons and conditioning treatments now. Alot cheaper, and just as good.

Every once in a while i go into the salon and get a relaxer put in my hair. It loosens the waves and makes the hair easier to work with. I enjoy it, but it is a bit damaging to my hair so I just developed a regimine for straightening my hair, using a plain old hair straightener.

All hair types are different. The effects of certain procedures on coarser hair, like African Americans could be different for those of Indian or Caucasian descent.

I've heard of a japanese straightener, some sort of chemical they put in your hair to make it straighter, and all you have to do is get your roots touched up, but some people say it's highly dangerous for your hair, because some have thier hair come out fried and destroyed.

Personally, I would not trust my hair in the hands of just anyone, and the only reason I relax it sometimes is because I personally know my stylist, and i've established a trustful relationship with her. And I don't let her straighten my hair often.

There are other ways to straighten your hair without chemicals. Try going into a salon for a shampoo/conditioning, and ask to have your hair straightened using the blow dryer.

And I would invest in a straightner if I were you. It's a pain, but if you love straight hair, then it's worth it.

And when straightening your hair, make sure to use some sort of hair serum or spray before you use your straightener, otherwise it will fry your hair. And make sure to get a real straightener, not something "gold-plated." Revlon's Wet/Dry is nice, and it's sold for about thirty bucks at Wal*Mart/Target. Check around. There are sales.

After researching the Bio Ionic, id suggest buying it only if you're willing to shell out the 200 dollars it costs. many of the reviews are satisfactory and i haven't found one that says it's damaged their hair. http://www.folica.com/Japanese_Cerami_d1... has pictures as well.

Good luck with that...I'm sticking to my plain old Revlon straightener, but you'r ehair might be a little worse off.

k well my cousin got it, and it worked beautifullly!!!!! all u have to do is not wash your hair for about 24 hours and youll be all set!
