I have naturally curly, light brown hair. i love my curls but no matter what product i put in it, i can get it to just stay down naturally, without it bunching up, making it look like i have really short hair. Straightening w/ a flat iron or w/e, works, but it doesnt stay. its humid where i live and whatever i put in it to help it stay, it doesnt ever work. any advice on any particular hair products? or relaxers? bester answer to the best advice!

IF you really want it straight, you might have to get it permanently straightened. If you haven't tried sunsilk yet, do so. It should work pretty well, or Garnier products. They're expensive yes, but if they work, it'll probably save you from going in and getting it straightened.

i have insanely curly hair and i used to have the same problem but the lady who does my hair gave me the advice to get a really good straightener. This christmas i did and it makes such a difference! I was using probably a $30 straightener before and my hair would look ok right after i straightened it but then in like an hour it didnt look smooth anymore. I got a good one and now it stays striaght for like 2 days. I recommend a CHI or FHI straightener

I have the same issues! Here's what works for me:
Whether wearing your hair curly or straight, you have to invest in some good hair products, bottom line. There is a difference between salon quality and the store bought stuff! When I wear my hair natural (curly), the only things that help to tame my curls are a good heavy conditioner and then I put a leave-in product in after washing called Repair and Shine - you can get it at most salons and it costs about $12-15 but it lasts for months because it's very concentrated. Then use a really good mousse like Joico's Joiwhip - it's very heavy and has a lot of hold to it. You can sculpt your curls exactly how you want them and they will stay put.
When I wear my hair straight, I use products like Redken's Smooth Down Shampoo and Conditioner, then apply a little Repair and Shine and then blow dry my hair straight using a bristle brush one section at a time. If you get your hair really straight during blow drying then chances are that your hair will not frizz hardly as much. Then use a good hairspray and spray your hair one section at a time as you flat iron your hair. It takes some patience, but before long you'll be in love with your hair again! Also, I just bought a ceramic hair dryer and flat iron and they make a HUGE difference!
PLEASE GIVE ME THE POINTS BECAUSE THIS WAS A LOT TO TYPE AND NOW MY ARM HURTS ;(

Maybe you should try a straight perm?
It might take a while but i think it would be totally worth it because your hair will be absolutely pin straight and it wont wave or curl for a longgg time. if your willing to spend $500 i think you should do it. Actually it might be cheaper, depends on your hair/where you live/where you get it done.
