i hear all this bad stuff about getting your hair chemically straightened, but what is the successful view?

well the positive things about this process is that you'll no longer have to blow dry your hair straight nor do you have to straighten it with a flat iron, but it is very damaging and drying to the hair, if you do decide on doing this process, try not to combine it with a color process, it'll in turn be even more damaging to your hair.

actually - depending on YOUR hair type, you may not need to blow dry or flat iron after having your hair chemically straightened - Trust me - I know from personal experience that sometimes you still have to do it. The reason for that is - the chemical straightening process can only be done (as far as for black people) once every 6 weeks. Well since your hair is still growing - you have "new growth" that is not straight - so the blow dryer and flat iron comes in handy here! The good stuff though is that it makes your hair more manageable for a longer period of time. For example - if you have curly hair, and you flat iron it, its only "straight" until you wash it again. With chemically straightened hair - you can wash it and have the straight look, and easier manageability for a longer period of time.

Good luck - and make sure you have a professional do it for you the first few times. Once you've seen it - its pretty easy to do yourself, but def not the first time.
