How do you blow dry your hair straight?

I have this hair straightening spray and I tried it, but it didn't seem to do anything when I tried it. I must be doing something wrong. My hair is moderately curly, but really dry and frizzes easily.

i use a rusk creme in it and spray a heat protective spray from CHI. I part my hair and blow dry the top while brushing/styling it as much as possible...then i put my head upside down and dry it completely. then i flip back up and comb and use the cold shot...
