How often can you chemically straighten your hair without really really damaging it?

I used a no-lye straightening kit on my hair with great results about six months ago, but it's now worn off (Which I'm confused about, I thought the effects were permanent and that you only had to be concerned with new growth?) I want to repeat the process, but will that start to damage my hair? How often can I chemically straighten without doing serious damage?

avoid perming ..it always damages no matter what good product u buy .listen ..get a chi iron straightener with its conditioner instead , it will make ur hair straight and shiny and would hardly make any damages to u r hair .

Most professionals will tell you not to chemically process your hair until there is new growth visible, usually about 6 to 8 weeks. You shouldn't allow the chemical to get onto the hair that is already straightened, or it may damage that portion of your hair and cause it to break.

I recomend professional chemical straightening as ti will last until the new hair grows, and if you wanted you could touch it up every few months with your at-home straightening kit, until it gets long enough that its worth straightening.

But if you want to use your at-home one, you can do it as soon as you like, as long as you use a professional shampoo and conditioner, with regular treatments and leave-ins.

Also, if you can, refrain from colouring your hair except except for rinses.

Plz visit this site blackhairmedia.com the ladies are into growing healthy hair. they practice stretching their relaxers for at least 12 weeks or more. They wear protective styles using very little heat or none.

Yes straighteners wear off; you have to get another one.

The frequency of getting your hair chemically straightened really depends on your hair type. Usually people can tell when it is time to get another straightener. I'm not sure about your hair type, but u should wait at least 2 months or so before getting another one (which u have).

You can straighten your hair again (6 months is enough time). When u put in the straightener make sure that u apply it to the new growth ONLY (not the ends or the middle of your hair). If u put the straightener all over your hair (new growth, ends, ect.) your hair will most likely break off or become unhealthy (if u continue to do that over a period of time). Also make sure that u take care of your hair in between the chemical straighteners (washing, deep conditioning, ect.).
