Hey Ladies!! What are some good products to use when you straighten your hair??

I am growing my hair long and have bought a straightener. What are some good products to help prevent my hair from getting alot of damage from the heat and breaking off?? When my hairdresser straightened it, the results were amazing but I just can't make it look like she did at all! I need some tips on the type of straightener that works well and also some tips on great products to give it body but still help keep it straight! Also wondering if it is ok to straighten hair every day with a straightener??

well first of all be prepared to pay at about 100$ + for a good straightener. stay away from the "conair" straighteners. Try a good ceramic one.

for product i use a few. the shampoo also makes a huge difference. I usually alternate between bottles of Matrix Sleek Look (orange bottle) and Redken Soft (gold bottle). Honestly hands down the best product to use is called Sleek by Matrix and it smells great. It leaves your hair silky smooth without any greasiness i swear. Its on orange colored bottle.

Yes, I straighten my hair every day with a straigtener. As long as you use conditioner and put in leave in conditioner after the shower. Some hair products are, John Frieda Hair straightning solution and almost any hair product company has straightning solutions. I knoow that I use a solution right after I get out of the shower and then before I actually straightin my hair. =) Good luck!

There are 2 products that I use that work really well.

1. Redken-Smooth Down Heat Glide, it protects your hair against the heat and minimizes frizzies. You only have to use 1-2 pumps so it lasts a long time.

2. Herbal Essences-Dangerously Straight.

Also when you straighten your hair try not to wash it the next day, with my hair I only can go 2-3 days without washing it. When you wash your hair everyday it washes out all of the natural oils that keep your healthy. I usually can wear my hair down for 2 days straightened and the next day I wear it in a pony tail or bun. You can also add a little bit of baby powder to your hair when it starts to get greasy to take some of the grease and shine out. I do this so I'm not damaging my hair everyday with the heat. You can get any ceramic made hair straightener, the ceramic kind is the best protection for your hair. You can probably go to your hair salon and pick up a good straightener and product there.
